Ways to live a happy life

The Seniors Portfolio, referred to as ‘’Care for Elderly’’, protects and promotes the well-being of the Jamat and to enhance their ability to improve their ability to improve their quality of life.  The committee supports seniors to have  better social lives and creates general awareness on pertinent issues, such as exercise, nutrition, general health, entertainment and other issues suggested by the elderly Jamati members.

One important aspect is to foster happiness within households and with other Jamati members. Happiness is important because it helps us be better people for ourselves, the ones we love and our community throughout our lives.

Here are suggested ways on how to live a happy life:

  1. Maintain a balance between Din and Duniya.
  2. Enjoy life with what you already have no matter the amount of money or any materialistic aspect of life. Be grateful for what you have and enjoy life every day.
  3. Don’t compare your lives with others. Sometimes, distractions can become our worst enemy.
  4. Part of living your best life and enjoying life to the fullest is looking after your body. Eat a balanced diet, drink plenty of water and exercise regularly.

Imam Ali (AS) has said:

‘’Hate no one, no matter how much they have wronged you. Live humbly, no matter how wealthy you become. Think positively, no matter how hard life is. Smile even if your heart is bleeding. Give much, even if you have been given little. Keep in touch with the ones who have forgotten you, and forgive those who have wronged you. And, do not stop praying for the best for those you love’’.
