Lessons on the importance of Navroz and taking care of the natural resources and environment were just a couple of lessons learned recently by the Aga Khan Cubs and Brownies in Dar es Salaam. A total of 12 cubs and 13 brownies came together at Upanga Jamatkhana to participate in planting the “sabzeh Nowroz), which literally means “the sprout of Navroz”. The cubs and brownies planted their individual sprouts earlier in March, which symbolizes rejuvenation and new life on the occasion on the new year. The sprouts were placed in mugs which were decorated by them and displayed in Upanga Jamatkhana on Navroz.
During this activity, participants also learned about how plants grow and the tools needed to plant and tend a garden.
