The Jubilee Arts Tanzania (JATZ) brought together several artists and performers from across the country in the 2-part series of the Art Gallery and the Talent Showcase in February and March respectively. The Jubilee Arts Festival commenced with the launch the Art Gallery on February 16, 2018 with various artworks by Ismaili artists from across the country of all ages.
Jamati members visited the gallery with excitement as they walked through the gallery to the different forms of art, such as canvas paintings, 3D art, photography and mixed media art. Approximately 100 pieces of artwork were displayed at Upanga Jamatkhana and Darkhana Jamatkhana by over 50 artists from Dar es Salaam, Iringa, Morogoro, Mbeya, Mwanza and Zanzibar.
The festival continued with the national talent showcase and film festival on March 10, 2018 at the Diamond Jubilee Hall. Talent showcases included short films, vocalists, musicians, dances, and creative arts.
All artists were judged by a team of three non-Ismaili expert judges. Their recommendations will be verified by the Jubilee Arts Team and submitted to the International Arts Festival Panel. The culmination event of the successful artists and performers will be held on the global stage later this year as part of the International Jubilee Arts Festival.
