Jashn-e-Jyot or “Celebration of Light”, was celebrated by thousands of Ismailis all over Tanzania, on 9th July 2017. This was the first in a series of events leading up to the historic Diamond Jubilee celebrations.
Hundreds of Jamati members took part in introducing and creating the Diamond JubileeMotif with the aid of colorful LED lights. Through the lights, the official DiamondJubilee Motif was introduced to the Jamats as a symbol of welcoming the historic year.Volunteers in Dar es Salaam, Mwanza, Arusha, Iringa and other regions in the country lit over 3000 lights. Particularly in Dar es Salaam, approximately 148 volunteers came together for the event and clocked in over 1000 working hours to make the event successful.
