The Aga Khan Education Board (AKEB) implemented various activities and programs for students with the objective of focusing on innovation and English language development. This included Pugu Hills Hiking with Science Expedition, IXL English Clinics, and Guided Self-Study Program for Math and Language Arts from January 2022. Pugu Hills Hiking and Science Expedition
The intention of the expedition was to teach students (Grades 4-6) about environmental science. Students were given specific roles to collect evidence, record data, take pictures, and understand how the ecosystem works in the forest. Overall, students were engaged in specific tasks, took interest in their surroundings, asked necessary questions, and enjoyed the whole trip.
Guided Self-Study Program (Extended School Program) at the Aga Khan Primary School
Math and Language Arts classes are held on Mondays and Tuesdays for two hours each day, where students (Grades 1 – 6) are supported to enhance their learning, based on the school curriculum.
IXL Clinics
Clinics are held at the Upanga Jamatkhana Social Hall, Karimabad RE center, and at the AKEB Learning Centre at Darkhana Jamatkhana on Mondays, Wednesdays and Thursdays respectively.
Learning Center
Classes are held from Monday to Sunday for students (Grades 7- IB2) on Math, English Language, English Literature, Business, Accounting, Physics, as well Swahili and French for Grade 7, which was introduced from this term.
Scholastic Assessment Test (SAT) Program
Batch 2 will begin from April 2022, three times a week till July 2022.
IXL Competition
Students (Grandes 1-6) competed this time for English Language skills and were awarded as follows: National award – Trophies; Gold, Silver and Bronze awards – medals. This competition was nationwide and students were awarded in their respective regions.
