AKHB – Jamati Health Checkup

In a well received initiative to promote health and wellness, the Aga Khan Health Board in conjunction with the Aga Khan Hospital, organized a health checkup for the Jamats of Darkhana, Upanga, Karimabad, Dodoma and Mwanza. The event, which spanned across multiple venues and days, aimed to provide accessible and preventive healthcare services to Jamati members, ensuring a healthier future for all, focussing on checking lipid profile, pressure and 3 month average sugar levels.

The health checkup camps were strategically set up in convenient locations within each Jamat, making it easy for Jamati members to participate. A team of dedicated healthcare professionals, including doctors, nurses, and volunteers, worked hand in hand to ensure the smooth operation of the event.

The response from the Jamat was overwhelmingly positive, with a high turnout at each location. Many participants expressed their gratitude for the convenience and thoroughness of the services provided. For some, it was a chance to identify and address potential health issues early, preventing more serious conditions down the line.

The Aga Khan Health Board’s initiative not only highlighted the importance of regular health checkups but also fostered a sense of community and mutual care. By bringing healthcare directly to the Jamat, the event removed barriers to access and encouraged proactive health management.

Similar camps are to be held in Jamatkhanas across the country.
